We are full service planners and designers

From your initial vision, venue and vendor selection, budget and timeline development, and design execution, we’ve got you covered. We pride ourselves on the relationships we share with some of the best vendors out there, and are committed to finding you the perfect team for your special day. Full and partial planning and design, as well as month-of coordination services are also available.

We are based in Annapolis, Maryland and provide services in the surrounding Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

We will also travel around the globe to make sure your day is a special, unique, and romantic memory.

After an initial consultation, we will develop a customized package that fits your personality and unique situation.

Julie Park

Focused, Organized and Creative

Julie is a highly-accomplished event planner and businesswoman based in the Washington D.C. area. Julie is the proud owner of Birch Management, a leading corporate and social event planning company, as well as offering fractional COO, strategic planning, and logistical management services to former high-level government and military officials.

With a degree in Event Management and over 15 years of experience in public service, Julie’s journey began at the Vice President’s Residence where she was privileged to play a key role in the planning of both social and private events for the Vice President of the United States. Throughout her career, Julie has planned a diverse range of events, from small, intimate gatherings to the 2008 Republican Convention, attended by thousands.

Julie’s 8 years at the Pentagon, working for Ash Carter, honed her attention to detail and organizational skills. As the Director of Protocol and Confidential Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, Julie excelled in communicating with executive-level officials from all branches of federal, state, and foreign governments, and engaging with civilian industry partners and high-profile American citizens. She was instrumental in the success of the Secretary’s global engagement strategy, which included over 60 domestic and international trips. Her exceptional work in public service was recognized in 2017 when Secretary Carter awarded Julie the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the highest civilian award.

Julie resides near Annapolis with her husband and five children, and enjoys sunny days on the water, traveling and hosting dinner parties for loved ones.

Jessica Kipouros

Imaginative, Resourceful and Disciplined

Jessica joined Birch in 2021 after spending time working in hospitality, healthcare management, program oversight, and quality management systems auditing. With a B.S.Ed from the University of Virginia (go Hoos!), Jessica has a keen eye for detail and loves collaborating with vendor teams to execute events that bring our clients’ ideas to life.

She has never met a stranger or faced a challenge she’s not willing to tackle – her charisma, welcoming personality, and tenacity has allowed her to thrive in the events industry. The daughter of an executive chef, she is as comfortable in the back of house at events as she is face-to-face with clients.

When Jessica isn’t deep in excel spreadsheets or designing paper goods, she can be found knitting, reading, or playing board games with friends – if you see her in a knit sweater, she probably made it herself! She lives in Northern Virginia, in the house she grew up in, with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs.

Nailah Beyene-Martin

Artistic, Inventive and Resourceful

Nailah joined Birch as an intern in the summer of 2019, and we refused to ever let her go! Although an Alexandria native, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Whittier College in Southern California. With her organization skills and people-first mindset, Nailah will go above and beyond to ensure each event runs smoothly and clients feel at-ease. She is an expert at matching couples to wedding vendors, and loves executing events that create lifelong memories.

When she isn’t communicating with vendors or running through timelines at site visits, Nailah loves to dive into a good book, spend time with her family, and explore different parts of the U.S. & beyond.
